PFAS is part of a group of man-made chemicals sometimes called “forever chemicals”, because they break down so slowly.
These chemicals, used in firefighting foams from 1965 until 2005, have left a legacy of contaminated sites all over Australia. There are 900 contaminated sites including defence force bases and major airports. And because they break down so slowly it will take generations to remove the contamination.
PFAS has found its way to our homes into everyday products such as teflon coatings in our cookware and Scotchgard waterproofing.
There is a global treaty to eliminate PFAS and 5 other chemicals from the environment due to their harm to humans and wildlife. It is called the Stockholm convention on persistent organic pollutants and Australia is a signatory.
The European Commission has set a safe intake level for PFAS of 4.9 nanograms per kg of body weight because of the ill-effects on health. (A nanogram is one part per billion.)
The Morrison Government refuses to accept that the PFAS chemical has caused any harm. The government is refusing to offer compensation and to relocate residents in these contaminated red zones around Defence bases, where a PFAS plume is spreading under their homes right now.
A recent Federal Court case awarded some residents compensation that averaged $150,000 after legal fees. It was $212m in total. This is a tiny part of what these people have lost, and of course, they are still trapped in the red zone in homes they can’t sell. They are still being infected today. This is negligent and dishonest.
Currently Australia does not have a designated safe level for PFAS. Contaminated cattle in the PFAS red zones are routinely returning contamination levels of 400 parts per billion, which is 80 times the European safe level of 4.6 parts per billion.
Food Standards Australia and New Zealand are currently conducting a review and we do expect FSANZ to set a level, which we hope matches the European standard.
The graziers still need to be relocated to a like for like property so they can get on with raising clean, heathy cattle to feed Australia and the world.
The health impacts of PFAS are not going away. These are forever chemicals. Contamination is getting worse because remediation has been limited and based on a refusal to accept the pervasive nature of the problem and the serious health impacts it causes.
We cannot have residents living in the middle of these highly contaminated red zones, abandoned and unable to move out. The Government must offer them like for like relocation.
FSANZ must introduce a national standard for PFAS in food.
Meat and Livestock Australia must get involved and lead a whole of industry response to removing PFAS from the meat food chain.
The government should now honestly settle with these people and then go and get compensation from Dupont, as they have already done in US. Dupont put aside billions of dollars for settlement.

[Malcolm Roberts] Good morning Marcus, how are you?
[Marcus Paul] All right, as a Queensland Senator, are you going to welcome the 2032 Olympic games to Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast with open arms?
[Malcolm Roberts] If they ever get here, mate, once the decision is made that’s it. Of course I welcome people here, but I abhor the decision from Annastacia Palaszczuk. It’s an absolutely terrible decision. We’ve got productive capacity, needed investment across our state, and across our country, and they’re gonna blow it on a festival? To get her votes? No this is rubbish, it’s nonsense.
[Marcus Paul] All right. So, but you concur with what the boss says, Pauline Hanson, that’s you know, we could do without spending the billions of dollars that it’ll cost to run the 2032 games in Brisbane. Well, I mean, they’ve been announced, they’re coming to Queensland, so I guess I dunno, we need to just make sure the government doesn’t blow out the cost, I guess, I dunno.
[Malcolm Roberts] Well, Marcus, how did Brisbane win anything? How did we win anything? No one else wanted these damn games. We’ve got, the Commonwealth games was a flop, because of the way the labour state government mismanaged it in this state. Again, they made Beattie in charge of it, Peter Beattie in charge of it, and he turned it into a disaster, a public relations disaster. It was a disaster for the Gold Coast, the way he mismanaged that. We’ve got, I was in Julia Creek, not long ago in the Northwest of our state. And they had recently had a hospital open there, a new hospital, but they can’t find any staff to run it. And you know, what that means is people who are in aged care there, have moved out of town. So they’ve lost their family as well. I mean, this state is being so terribly mismanaged. We have got a $130 billion loan, sorry, debt. That’s what our debt is. We’ve got a mismanaged economy. The state government is just running this state into the ground. It’s just telling lies, and it’s just running from one catastrophe to the next. The COVID mismanagement. We have, I was in North, I’m in North Queensland now. I’m calling from Bamaga. We went through Moreton Telegraph, or Moreton Telegraph station just a couple of days ago. They had, the people who are running that business, lost their business in Cairns, a major touring company, tourist company, because of mismanagement. They can’t put up with the state government. It’s just destroying our state.
[Marcus Paul] All right, just on vaccinations. I know that Scott Morrison hasn’t ruled out at all, the possibility of a so-called vaccine passport. We know in France, the president, Emmanuel Macron, has introduced the vaccine passport system. Without a jab, people can’t go to restaurants, or cafes, get on planes, or trains to travel. Look, obviously there’ll be, you know, different countries around the world, where we’ll basically ask people to prove that they’re vaccinated, before they get access to so-called privileges. Look, I don’t know. I know you’re dead set against them, but I have a sneaking suspicion mate, that this is what’s on the way, a vaccine passport system here in Australia, as well.
[Malcolm Roberts] It’s a vaccine prison. It’s not a vaccine passport, it’s a vaccine prison, because it locks people out of everyday activities, travel, services, and mixing with their fellow humans in their own communities. It’s a vaccine prison. Scott Morrison promised, that there would be no vaccine prison. And now he’s trying to push one in, through the aged care facilities. We’ve had thousands of people contact us, deluged, with really serious concerns. Some of my staff have been crying with them on the phone. These people love working in aged care. They love servicing the guests in aged care facilities. They’re going to be leaving them, abandoning them, because they don’t want their own health compromised. We’ve got, in America, as of the 7th of July, it’s increased since then enormously, there were 9,000 deaths due to vaccines, and that’s not even counting AstraZeneca, I don’t think they do that over there. And they’ve had a thousand miscarriages. They have had no testing on the female reproductive systems. And that is possible, because they use rats and to do it, if they did the test, but they haven’t done the test on these vaccines. it’s just disgraceful. This is the first time in human history, where a government has knowingly injected something that can kill you into healthy people. And it’s also the first time in human history, that a government has willfully ignored a proven cure, ivermectin, and let people rot and die, because of COVID when they can’t get Ivermectin even though it’s proven, safe, affordable, and effective.
[Marcus Paul] Well it’s obviously not on the government’s radar. You and I have talked about ivermectin, and all the other options that are elsewhere available before, but it’s quite clear, the medical fraternity in this country, don’t wanna use it, otherwise we would be using it. And you’ve got to ask the question, “Why?” I’m not quite sure. What I do now-
[Malcolm Roberts] No, no.
[Marcus Paul] Hang on, hang on. But what I do know is that we rolled the dice. We went with the wrong jockey, if you like, in AstraZeneca, and we’re paying the price for it now.
[Malcolm Roberts] There are many medical practitioners, and allied healthcare practitioners in this country, who strongly support ivermectin’s use.
[Marcus Paul] Yeah, but the government, my point being, the government’s not listening to them.
[Malcolm Roberts] Correct.
[Marcus Paul] And if they were listening to them, then as you say, ivermectin and others would be in the mix. The question is, why aren’t they? Maybe, you know, because Craig Kelly was on the nose. I don’t know. I know that those who have been pushing it, yourself, Craig Kelly and others. But I do have to wonder why, our medical experts at a federal and state level have shied away from it? They just don’t wanna know about it. Why is that Malcolm? You’re a Senator. You have the ability to ask these questions within the Senate. Why is it that they’re not using ivermectin, or other as you put it, so-called scientifically proven methods to control COVID?
[Malcolm Roberts] It’s very simple, in my opinion, Marcus. Both the Labour Party and the Liberal Party, National Party have run this country into the ground over the last 40 years. Even more, if you go back to the root cause in 1944.
[Marcus Paul] Yeah, but you’re not answering the question.
[Malcolm Roberts] No, no, I am answering your question. What they have done, is they have played second fiddle. They’d been the lackeys for multinational corporations. Multinational corporations in this country, do not have to pay company tax. That’s a fact. That means you and I, and everyone listening is paying their share, the multinational share. Now multinationals behind these vaccines, have got a monopoly, while ever there’s no proven safe, effective, affordable alternative. So the government is not, that’s my belief, that they’re suppressing ivermectin, because if they passed ivermectin, and approved it for use for COVID, there would be no need whatsoever, whatsoever for these vaccines. Plus in addition, we’d be able to open the country up. And because it is known to cure people with COVID, known to already do that. It’s been demonstrated in many countries overseas. It’s been demonstrated also as a prophylactic to prevent you getting COVID. So this is insane.
[Marcus Paul] All right, so basically what you’re saying, is the government don’t wanna know, or our politicians don’t wanna know about the alternative treatments, because there’s nothing in it for them. I mean, we hear stories of certain MPS, and I, this is where I get really annoyed. We hear stories, I don’t know about how true they are. So I’ve got to be a little careful here, but you do hear stories of certain government MPS having shares in a number of the manufacturers of the approved vaccines. Now that to me is a concern, now.
[Malcolm Roberts] That’s a big concern. I haven’t done that research Marcus, so I’m not gonna say too much about it. But if it’s true, that’s a very, very serious indecent thing.
[Marcus Paul] Well, there’s a lotta of rumours about it.
[Malcolm Roberts] Well that’s the thing you know, there so many rumours on the internet about these things. And what we’ve gotta face up to, is the fact that this government has botched the delivery of the vaccines. It’s botched, and same with Labour Party, The Labour Party and the Liberal Party have refused to deal with the fundamental question, which is, should we be vaccinating, not how do we vaccinate. What they’ve done, is they’ve skipped the should we be vaccinating, and looked at that and had a serious debate about the pros and cons, and gone straight to how do we vaccinate? That’s a con job. And so what we’ve got at the very minimum, is a serious abdication of accountability and responsibility yet again, from the federal government in this country. Plus, as you point out, maybe serious conflicts of interest.
[Marcus Paul] Malcolm, good to have you on mate. We’ll talk again soon, appreciate it.
[Malcolm Roberts] Okay, Marcus, little bit.
[Marcus Paul] All right, there he is, Queensland One Nation Senator, Malcolm Roberts. Wow, agree, disagree. Look, as I say, this programme is a broad church, and I allow all opinions. Even those that perhaps, you know, skirt the, well, the probability of almost being realistic. Look, I don’t know. You know Malcolm Roberts, a lot of people don’t like him, but he’s, you know, give him credit where it’s due. He researches, he looks into the issues. And you know, there are a lot of people who do support the use of other formulas or methods to deal with COVID. But it’s quite obvious that the medical fraternity here in Australia, and our politicians don’t agree with him. Otherwise, you know, we’d be using ivermectin, and all these other things that they talk about. But we’re not, we’re stuck with what we’ve got, and here we are, lock downs

I recorded this message for the Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party AGM held last month. A number of members have requested a copy to listen again, here is that message.

Senator Roberts calls for the National Cabinet to reverse its decision to force the COVID vaccine onto aged care workers.
Threats of a staff walk out against the vaccine is gathering momentum as NSW Health Services Union asks Governments to ensure the vaccine is voluntary.
Senator Roberts said, “My office has been flooded with calls and emails from aged care workers and many have said they will walk off the job before the September vaccination deadline.”
Members are approaching the union on a daily basis saying that they will walk out, leading to NSW Health Services Union Secretary Gerard Hayes voicing his concerns that the mandate could lead to ‘a major workforce crisis’ in the aged care sector.
The official advice on vaccines for expecting mothers has also ranged from caution to complete avoidance.
Senator Roberts added, “The government’s track record of inconsistent and confusing advice on the vaccine, which has bypassed Australian testing and gained the TGA’s provisional approval in an absurdly short period of time, it’s no wonder many people in the community are cautious.”
“Forcing people to choose between the mandated vaccine and a job – livelihood – is no way to address people’s concerns,” he said.
The government has provided indemnities to GP’s administering the vaccine and to vaccine manufacturers.
Senator Roberts added, “If aged care employers aren’t willing to give an undertaking that they will compensate employees for any negative vaccine side affects how can any employee have confidence in this mandate?”
“Why should the Government not indemnify employers?”
“I support all Australians accessing their rightful informed consent regarding the vaccine. If we allow Governments to entrench a two-tier system of citizens based on vaccination status through mandatory edicts, this becomes a short path to medical tyranny,” he said.
In this podcast two guests join us to a discuss our modern-day RSPCA. What might surprise you is that this isn’t a heart-warming story.
The Royal Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, known as the RSPCA, dates to 1871 when a public meeting was held in Victoria in response to the ill treatment of horses. The QLD RSPCA was formed in 1883. The RSPCA is a household name and many consider it a beacon of respect and care for animals.
Today, the RSPCA has capitalised on its branding of animal welfare with producers and brand owners being able to use the RSPCA logo to reflect their shared vision for animal welfare. Today we can buy RSPCA approved meat in our supermarkets. Typically, we don’t question the integrity of the claimed “animal welfare” standards as we take for granted that this iconic brand is squeaky clean.
Several QLD constituents contacted my office recently with extraordinary stories about how the RSPCA were conducting themselves. Since asking questions at Senate Estimates about the RSPCA, their methods and the legitimacy of their not-for-profit status, we’ve been flooded with more calls and emails. Their stories share many similar themes and the overall message is that there is something rotten in the state of the RSPCA.
The concerns being raised are varied.
The RSPCA’s charity status means that they are not-for-profit and enjoy a tax-free status. Looking closely at the recent annual report it shows revenue was $58 million and included in that is a $4 million Federal Govt grant. The hefty surplus of $8.7 million is what prompted Senate Estimates questions of the Commissioner for Charities and Not-For-Profits. My questions were about whether the RSPCA should continue to enjoy charitable status? We’re waiting for that answer as no-one could provide one on the day.
The RSPCA appears to be leveraging its charity branding to become heavily commercial. I have already mentioned the RSPCA approved meat and today RSPCA pet shops are being set up in the suburbs. On the face of it there is no problem. It is when we understand how the RSPCA is conducting itself under its Inspectorate powers, that we see the problem.
The RSPCA’s Inspectorate of RSPCA QLD, has power to investigate and confiscate animals that are poorly treated. That is the heart of what we expect from them. What we don’t expect is seizure of animals based on lies. We have dozens of examples where Inspectorate officers have entered properties and confiscated with no prior notification or investigation. All this is based on an anonymous tip off that is never disclosed to the property owners. The warrants JPs sign sometimes use photographs of animals in poor conditions, which do not match the animals to be seized. This is only the beginning. Some pet owners have then seen their animals online for sale within days. This is the problem when the RSPCA have a commercial arm alongside their charitable arm when they can confiscate and sell based on misuse of powers and lies. This is a clear conflict of interest.
Many pet shop owners, registered breeders, private pet owners, animal rescuers and veterinarians have experienced the full force of the RSPCA’s misuse of power. Many have spoken out against this strong arm approach and suffered the consequences. Pet shop businesses have been sabotaged when the RSPCA advises their suppliers to blacklist them based on false accusations of animal cruelty. Veterinarians who have spoken out against this behaviour have also suffered from the RSPCA spreading false accusations regarding their standards of animal care. Business have been decimated through this belligerent behaviour.
My two guests, who both own pet stores, join us to share their experiences with the RSPCA. Their stories are confronting.
‘Shell’ and Nicole’s stories are extraordinary and not what we expect of a charity that is supposed to champion care and respect for animals. This unconscionable conduct is exploiting its charitable and tax-free status to create a multi-million dollar business. Its strong-arm approach is clearly outside of acceptable conduct under both the Acts.
The RSPCA have become a law unto themselves, issuing warrants based on lies, not going through due process to investigate before seizing animals, extorting money out of people for housing their stolen animals and then annihilating local private businesses through negative media and malicious lies. It’s quite a rap sheet for the warm and fuzzy RSPCA we all grew up with.
This belligerent and intimidatory behaviour must stop. Their exploitation business model must be stopped.
I am calling for the RSPCA to be de-registered as a charity. I urge everyone to take your complaints to the ACCC and to the Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission for investigation. Everyone who donates to the RSPCA, think again. Any RSPCA employees, past or present, are invited to call my office and share their stories.
This behaviour has gone under the radar for too long. We need to bring the RSPCA back to the animal welfare organisation it is supposed to be.

I talked to Marcus Paul on Thursday about the current inquiry into casuals in the workforce, the WA government’s shocking move to ban the Australian Christian Lobby from a state-owned venue and progress on the Defence Suicide Royal Commission.
Transcript
[Marcus] With a smile on his noggin, is Malcolm Roberts, One Nation Senator, hello mate.
[Malcolm] G’day, Marcus, how are you?
[Marcus] All right, well you saved a little bit of face up there on the Gold Coast last night.
[Malcolm] Yeah, I didn’t get to watch it because I’m calling from Bowen right now, and last night I was addressing the Chamber of Commerce, we had a fabulous night.
[Marcus] Okay.
[Malcolm] Bowen’s the place with the world’s best mangoes, but I saw the result this morning.
[Marcus] Yeah, and Bowen, I remember it well in my travels up in north Queensland, gorgeous spot, and you’re right, that’s where the world’s best mangoes come from.
[Marcus] All right, tell me about this inquiry into security of work at the focus of course, on the casualization of our workforce. What’s happening here?
[Malcolm] Well mate, you know that I’ve been, really pushing hard on this issue for coal miners in the Hunter Valley and in central Queensland, and initially even Labour ridiculed me and just said, no this is nonsense, it’s not happening. I think some of the Labour MPs were trying to cover it up. But it’s now come out after two years of pushing this issue, it’s now come out into the open, and Labour and Liberals, sorry, Labour and the Cross bench, and the Greens have got together and we’ve got this inquiry up, sponsored by Senator Sheldon, and we’re looking into it. They’re taking the gloves off and getting right into it. And, but what I’m doing now is that I’m broadening it because job security, which is what this is all about, is not just about casuals, it’s about industry security because the Labour and Greens’ policies are ending coal mining, and it’s also about personal security because I’ve been shocked, as I’ve shared with you quite openly over the last few months.
[Marcus] Yeah.
[Malcolm] That people’s safety is really jeopardised and people have been crippled, and just tossed on the scrap heap with no workers’ compensation. That kind of stuff has got to end and state and federal governments are at fault, and we’ve really got to shake things up. And I’ve been very critical of the Hunter Valley CFMEU, and I remain so.
[Marcus] Yep.
[Malcolm] They have abandoned workers, completely, they’ve enabled enterprise agreements that have sold workers out. But I want to compliment the CFMEU construction division, because I read their submission into this inquiry, and it is first-class, comprehensive. And what was very disappointing was, yesterday, we did it, we asked questions of various organisations on Tuesday when I was in Rocky. And then yesterday, I had to stop at Marlborough in the bush and ask questions of the mining companies and labour hire companies. They were evasive mate. They just don’t get to the point, ’cause I think all along this whole issue has been, how do we cut miner’s wages? That’s what it’s all about.
[Marcus] Labour hire companies, essentially cut real wages, I don’t care how anybody tries to spin it, that’s exactly what happens. You and I both know it, and it’s high time that we do something about it. Tell me what’s up.
[Malcolm] Some of the companies mate, are actually giving people an introduction to mining. There’s some very good labour hire companies around.
[Marcus] Yeah, but I don’t agree with them.
[Malcolm] But some of them, they’re just ripping people off. I mean how did you get a mining company employing its own people, and then paying a commission to a labour hire firm for hiring other people? Unless you cut mining wages. You can’t give them a profit on top of miner’s wages, so they cut miner’s wages. That’s what’s going on, but there are some good ones.
[Marcus] Yeah well, maybe I might just disagree with these sorts of labour hire companies anyway, because eventually, it comes down to first and foremost how much money the labour hire company can make and workers, who are the ones putting in all the hard yards are always those that seem to lose out. Anyway, let’s put that aside now.
[Malcolm] Well, what it also shows Marcus, is that some of these mining companies, don’t understand that safety is not a cost, safety actually saves money and increases production. They also don’t seem to understand that if you pay people doing the same job, different rates of pay.
[Marcus] Of course.
[Malcolm] Then you’re gonna create animosity, it hurts morale, hurts safety, hurts commitment. That hurts productivity. It doesn’t make sense.
[Marcus] Yeah, it’s not just in the mining sector, labour hire companies hire people in factories across Southwestern Sydney and I can tell you some stories and I will one day that’ll make your toes curl. I mean, they just are ripping off workers.
[Malcolm] Yes.
[Marcus] All right, WA, let’s move over to Western Australia. I see the government there is upset. The Australian Christian Lobby, they’ve cancelled an event hire at the convention centre. The ACL had hired the convention centre, and the Labour state government cancelled the booking. Why?
[Malcolm] Well, apparently some gay and trans activists complained, and so the Labour government said, no, you can’t have that event. After they’d already signed up the Australian Christian Lobby to have that event in their convention centre, and also at one of the towns south of Perth. But Martyn Iles has been doing a fabulous job, I attended his presentation in Brisbane, it was first-class, really getting done. I think he calls it “The Truth of It.” And he’s doing a really good job, and what McGowan’s government, in the Labour of government in WA, I think they’re afraid of what he’s doing, and they’re just trying to shut him down. But really, it’s getting like Nazi Germany and China. It ends religious freedom. These people went out as a legitimate, everyday organisation and booked a venue, and then they’d been cancelled. So, this is just an end of free speech in our country. That’s what Labour is doing in Western Australia.
[Marcus] All right, well, the ACL, I’m certainly no fans of theirs, I think they’re a little too far right in some of their views, but look, they certainly do have a right in this country to assembly and get together and discuss issues that are of concern to them. So, I find it very odd and you’re right, I tend to agree, why are we shutting down conversation? That doesn’t sound very democratic to me.
[Malcolm] No, and that’s a form of control, and Marcus, you know I’ve said it many times, wherever there is control, beneath control there is fear. The Labour government in WA is afraid of these people speaking up. There are a lot of Christians, good solid Christians in WA, and they’re shutting them down. That’s not right.
[Marcus] All right, of course we know that the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide has been set up, we’ve got an interim report due in August of next year, a final report, not until 2023. We certainly do need to do more to support our veterans.
[Malcolm] Yes, it’s something that Pauline and I have been pushing for quite a while, but I must give compliments and appreciation to Jacqui Lambie who has been pushing this Royal Commission for quite a while now.
[Marcus] Yep.
[Malcolm] And it’s not just in the veterans, it’s also in the defence suicide, and they wanna look at systemic issues and common themes around suicide, contemplation of suicide, and feelings of suicide, you’ve given a date, and I encourage all veterans and current members of the defence force, who have a point to make, to contact the Commission and make a submission, and then see if you can become a witness before the Royal Commission, it’s really important. I’ve said it before, we have a fabulous armed forces in terms of the commitment of these people, over 100 years. And what it is, is that we actually send them, we bend them, but we don’t mend them. And that’s where we’ve gotta do a better job of looking after people, when I think the Romans first noticed that, you know, what’s that a couple of thousand years ago. When a man is sent to war and he comes back, he’s a different person. We’ve gotta acknowledge that and look after these people.
[Marcus] All right mate, good to have you on, we’ll chat again next week.
[Malcolm] All right mate, thanks.
[Marcus] Take care. One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts.

Senator Roberts’ office has received around 1000 emails and calls from aged care workers all over Australia who do not want the COVID vaccine, yet the Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese stated on Sky News this morning that he has never met an aged care worker that didn’t want the vaccine.
Senator Roberts said, “Mr Albanese needs to widen his net and meet more aged care workers since I know there are hundreds of workers who are deeply distressed and terrified at having to get the vaccine.
“The opposition leader is conveniently ignoring any dissenting voices against the vaccine and his statement is misleading,” he said.
Many of these emails explain how people are being forced to choose between their jobs or the jab, because this vaccine has been made mandatory and they are in fear of the vaccine’s side-affects. People are already walking away from their jobs in the aged care sector.
Senator Roberts stated, “People are being confronted with a loss of liberty and now a loss of a job and it is unconstitutional that we are making them chose.
“Emails from hospital staff tell of the serious side-affects including death in healthy people, and the fact it never makes the news.
“There are many Australians who are literally terrified to be rounded up for this mandatory vaccination. “Mr Albanese’s office will be better informed over the next few days as I have written to the hundreds of aged care workers who have contacted my office and suggested they email Mr Albanese and bring him up to date,” he said.
Anthony Albanese’s contact details can be found here.

I talked to Rowan Dean about the government’s ridiculous idea to change the law so that beer can be offered to get people to have the jab.
Transcript
Rowan Dean:
Promise that you can have a beer. If you have, they changed the law. They went to the TGA, which is the Therapeutic Goods Administration and said, “I’ll change the law. Now, if a pubs want to offer you a beer to get vaccinated, that’s all fine.” Someone who’s not terribly happy about this is one nation, Senator Malcolm Roberts. He joins us now from Brisbane, Malcolm, how are you, senator?
Senator Malcolm Roberts:
I’m well, thanks and apologies for the rush, Rowan.
Rowan Dean:
No problem. Listen, I’m pretty disturbed that the TGA who have blocked ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, and other things for the last 18 months, and they’re the sacred cow, or you can’t possibly upset the TGA, Scott Morrison turns around and says, “I’ll give them the flick. We’re not going to let people have beers for vaccines.” Tell us your thoughts on it.
Senator Malcolm Roberts:
Desperation is really a sign that the Australians are growing in vaccine hesitancy, injection hesitancy. That’s the core issue here. The second core issue and the underlying really deep issue is shoddy governance. I picked the right word there, shoddy governance. We’ve had 40 years of it and that’s what’s led to the COVID unmasking, the lack of manufacturing, lack of being able to make fundamental things like masks and ventilators. It’s just really raised that, but now what we’ve seen is no detailed plan, Rowan. And it’s really annoyed me, no detailed plan. People are dying, literally dying because of suicides, domestic violence, et cetera, because of the panic that’s going on. We’ve got no detailed plan yet. We’ve got capricious lockdowns.
We’ve got people being slammed, small businesses being gutted, or around this country at whims, we’ve got three people get tested positive in Brisbane. Last, just a few months ago in January, and we’re putting masks on all over Queensland. I mean Bamaga 2,700 kilometres away. This is what’s really wrong with this country. It’s a governance that drives to look good, not do good. And I’ve had a gut full of it. And so if so many people were inundated with people just complaining about governance from both the labour party, the liberal party it’s got to stop.
Rowan Dean:
Rita.
Rita Panahi:
Look, I take your point about the hysteria, the outdoor masking, all the lockdowns, but what’s wrong with incentivizing vaccinations so we can reopen the country by giving out free beers in the states that had a Washington was giving out a joint for a jab that had marijuana joints as an incentive.
Rowan Dean:
I suppose you could say a jug for a jab. At least it’s the literates anyway. Malcolm.
Rita Panahi:
Yeah. So what’s wrong. Whether it’s a beer, whether it’s a lottery ticket, what’s wrong with getting people incentivized because Australians are apathetic, got borders are closed. A lot of people are saying, “Why bother getting a vaccination when I’m not allowed to travel and as a fairly lethal virus in the community?”
Senator Malcolm Roberts:
Well, the fact is exactly, as Rowan said, this is the first time in history where we have got governments in Western countries, injecting people with something that can kill them, healthy people with something that can kill them. We have got 9,000 deaths reported from the COVID vaccine in the United States. Up until July 7th, we’ve had 27,000 hospitalizations, 57,000 urgent care, 80,000 office visits. We’ve had 1000 miscarriages. We have done, no testing on this drug. The normal testing takes about five to seven years. There’ve been no testing. We get a, I’m told that what happens is the drug manufacturers in this case have given us the results of their overseas tests, which have not been thorough, not even been 18 months in duration. And they’ve bypassed everything here and allowed them to be on a trial, Greg Hunt himself and said, [crosstalk 00:03:41] this is the world’s largest, hang on Rita. This is the worlds largest clinical vaccination trial.
Rowan Dean:
Rita. Off you go, Rita.
Rita Panahi:
We’ve had in this country, something like one death for every 2 million vaccinations, that rate is not just minuscule, it’s lower than any other medicine that you could think of. So to say that we are [crosstalk 00:04:02] killing people by injecting healthy people is, well we have had testing. This drug has got approval. It’s, [crosstalk 00:04:10].
Senator Malcolm Roberts:
No testing on pregnant women, no testing on female reproducting.
Rowan Dean:
Okay. So we’ll just stop [crosstalk 00:04:16].
Senator Malcolm Roberts:
No testing on fe- and what we’ve also got is,
Rowan Dean:
Sorry, sorry, Malcolm.
Senator Malcolm Roberts:
Sorry, Rowan?
Rowan Dean:
Just rose jumped in there. Yeah. Clearly we can have a lengthy debate about the different vaccines and the different tests and all the rest, but James, your point.
James Morrow:
Oh, I was going to say, I mean, the people are, what is wrong with people making their own informed consent? We know you say there’s vaccine hesitancy, but they’ve had record numbers this past week of people going out and signing up to get the jab beer or no beer. If people want to make an informed consent off of their own decision and their own research about it and do their own risk calculation. What’s wrong with that?
Senator Malcolm Roberts:
That’s exactly the point. You’re right on there. James. We need to have informed consent and you don’t have informed consent when you haven’t got all the options on the table. Rowan introduced this segment with ivermectin as well as now, killing people with something that is injected into healthy people and some occasions Rita. We’ve also got a proven drug, safe drug, affordable drug. It’s now proven with COVID for over 12 months and the government will not let it into this country to be used for COVID. This is the first time we’ve prevented a known cure and a known prophylactic from being used on people who are sick and need treatment. This is a complete contradiction of what should be happening. We should, this is a real governance issue. It goes to informed consent and no compulsory mandated vaccinations, not at all informed consent is absolutely essential. And you can’t have informed consent when you’ve got bribes. When you’ve got threats or losing livelihoods jobs and lifestyle, you can’t have that in this country. This is a free country, not a totalitarian dictatorship.
Rowan Dean:
Senator Malcolm Roberts. Thanks so much for coming. Sorry guys, we’re going to leave it there. I’ve got lots more to get on within the show and I really do appreciate Malcolm Roberts giving us his time.

Outsiders with Rowan Dean
Participation in sport is a right for everyone. We know sport is great for our physical health, and for our social, emotional and mental health. Australia is a great nation of sports watchers and participants. Next month the world looks forward to the Olympics and this year there will be some fierce debate centred on some of the women’s sporting competitions. Namely those events with transgender females who are competing in female sports.
A transgender female is someone born male and then makes a decision to live as a female. To assist their transition they will take sex hormones and have surgery. Some transgender females now want to compete in women’s sport and that brings an immense challenge. At the Olympics the stakes are high. The training, carried out over many years, will have meant enormous sacrifice and to be pipped at the post by a biological man in a women’s sporting event just doesn’t seem fair.
It may seem inclusive, but is it fair? The IOC have stated “There’s considerable tension between the notions of fairness and inclusion, and the desire and need to protect the women’s category.”
What does this male advantage look like? Let’s quantify it. When males go through puberty they gain physiological advantages such as higher lung capacity, increased blood flow and greater bone strength. These advantage don’t diminish completely after a gender transition. In the final analysis a man is on average 7% taller and 13% larger. Women on average have only 66% of male lower body strength and 52% of male upper body strength.
At Olympic level, the pinnacle for any athlete, the difference between male and females world records are around 10% – across sprinting, distance and strength events.
Transgender women don’t always win, but a women will probably need to work even harder to win in her category. But the odds are tipped towards the transgender woman. In the US in 2017 and 2018, a transgender female won a high school track championships in the 55m, 100m, 200m and 300m events. Her closest and only real competitor was also a transgender female.
Some argue that sports is never an equal playing field and there are always inherent advantages in some people and disadvantages with others. While that may accurate putting biological men up against women is “not fair play”, nor is it safe play.
Everyone has a right to compete and participate and we need a solution that takes biology into account. Maybe our best outcomes is a women’s category and an open category. That way sport is inclusive, safe and fair.

Western countries are experiencing an explosion of gender dysphoria in our children. Historically incidences of gender dysphoria were small and larger with preschool boys, yet the explosion in recent years has been in our teenage girls.
This significant change remains largely unexplained.
There are two pathways to support these children. The therapeutic pathway and the medical pathway. It is surprising and worrying that many children are opting for the medical pathway, which includes experimental puberty blockers, hormones and irreversible surgery. All bring life long consequences.
