I break down the contents of the government’s proposed Misinformation and Disinformation (MAD) Bill and see it for exactly what it is – a censorship regime that would make George Orwell blush.

I believe the two major parties are the same party, some wear red the others wear blue. I am told this was a blue policy. I am led to believe a number of other policies were blue, now red. We need people like yourself in parliament

    Malcolm,
I’m pretty sure that Scott Morrison originated the Censorship Bill and Labor ran with it on the baton change. There does not appear to be a great difference between the Coalition and Labor. Thank God, in the end Dutton opposed ‘The Voice’ and Coalition policy on Immigration and energy generation is better. In Qld the difference between Labor and LNP is even less. The main difference is that Crisafulli has a better policy on Juvenile Crime. Crisafulli was on board for ‘The Voice’ and ‘Treaty’. The duopoly that is Labor/Coalition, appears to give us a choice, but is that choice real or just mainly smoke and mirrors. Being a conservative, I think that the Coalition is a better proposition than Labor. At least the Coalition don’t have anything to do with the feckless Teals and the rabid Greens.

Malcolm, excellent presentation. Is email acceptable – or do you recommend postal mail to get the message across to the local member? And what if the local member is from the Greens!?

To lodge an objection to this BILL it was DIFFICULT. I hold 3 degrees and yet had to get my IT guy on board to then find the lodgement site was “under repair”!
Perseverance and lodged the objection a couple of days later.

I think you need to add a little to the parts where you say “you CAN’T say or do this, you CAN’T say or do that”, to something a bit more along the lines of, “you can’t LEGALLY do this or that”. The people still need to speak out no matter what the corrupt scum change the laws to. Just like with the whole COVID nonsense. If everyone that was against it, which was most, just grew a pair and said NO instead of conforming and going along with it because they want to go to the pub, or travel etc, it would’ve been over before it began as there is absolutely nothing they can do if the majority of the population refuse. Can’t terminate 90% of staff from a hospital etc, can’t jail 20 million people. Problem is, Australia is full of brainwashed, scared, indoctrinated sheeple that hang off every word that comes from the puppets in the media and have never had a thought of their own, and they are dragging us into the gas chambers with them. 🤦

So technically speaking the current government could say the opposition is spreading false information and therefore we would never be able to hear any opposing views of anything even if they were true. Who decides what is true and with no right of reply or analysis of evidence what is true. So as a consumer can we also decide the content is not true and not take any direction by digital communication from the Government? Back to writing letters and delivering them ourselves to each other. Freedom of speech gone kids. If I get a fine delivered digitally I declare that to be untrue and misinformation.

A fact that is ignored and not discussed is that FACEBOOK in Feb 2020 called a meeting to take control of speech/narrative etc!—In February, Facebook used its headquarters in Menlo Park, California, to host a summit of World Health Organization officials and tech companies about managing the so-called infodemic of fake health news. In early March, before much of corporate American had decided how to handle COVID-19, Facebook shut its offices, sent its 45,000 employees home, and canceled major events more than 13 months out. In April, it waded directly into the political storm around reopening the country, pulling down ads for anti-lockdown protests in places like New Jersey and Nebraska, sparking outrage on the right. Last week, it dramatically announced, in the New York Times, a new “oversight board” to guide its decisions on removing content, made up of an unapologetically globalist mix of academic experts, journalists and political figures.

Thank you Malcolm Roberts for keeping us updated on proposed Govt initiatives.
It is just disgraceful that the Govt could even suggest this kind of Legislation, they are getting WAY out of hand and MUST
be brought to account for trying to introduce this underhanded autocratic garbage. It MUST BE STOPPED!
