The greedy major banks have closed more than 70 branches in rural, regional and remote Australia in just 42 days.

The banks are looked after by the Australian government extremely well, so they have a responsibility to serve Australians.

It’s another reason why we need a people’s postal bank.

We grew up in Clermont Qld in the 1950 To the 1970, there were 4 banks there then,, Westpac, Commonwealth, ANZ, and Commercial, now there’s none, only a Post office.
The nearest bank is Emerald One hour away.or 3 or more if you live out of town North of Clermont.

Agreed, taxpayers do not need to pay for this – thank you for your good work, Senator Roberts

(From Sydney) Please note that the banks have abandoned most suburbs also, this includes a massive reduction in the numbers of ATMs as well.

Agree the government needs to cut back the taxpayer’s money they so generously grant the banks.

Dear Senator, — so many branches closed just for the profit of the Banks. Many people need a branch to deposit cash, cheques, multi signatories for sinking fund withdrawals etc. A prime example is Sandgate Suncorp branch had always a line up of customers and only 2 on the staff so don’t tell me the branch wasn’t profitable.
