I want the Australia I grew up in as a kid in the 90s. Within 30km from Melbourne CBD, under 100k for a house with a backyard and garage.

In 1989 I was paying 18% interest on my mortgage and even working heaps of overtime I could not afford to pay anymore, at the end of the year my statement said I had paid $200 off the capital, young ones have never seen rates like that and it can happen again, we got through it it eventually the rates went down to 10% so we bought a better house and we were so happy, life is a struggle and most workers know it but we just made it through to a meagre retirement but I consider myself so lucky to get there, most won’t make it and I don’t ever think that any political parties even give a knob of goat shit about the people of Australia, just a warning to the young
