On my walks with the dog I've seen almost every house that's come on the market sold to foreign owners. We went back through the houses we were out bid on and over 80 percent were up for rent, which was interesting given you would have to put in half the value of the sale just to have the rent just make the mortgage, unless it's interest only and they speculate the property value going up substantially.

How on earth have homes kept sky-rocketing in price? During Covid the homes in my area went up by around 100%, to around the 600k mark for a 4bed2bath, now these realestates are asking 750-800k for those same homes......

And a world of crooked people, paid by crooked officials, laundering other countries wealth thru our realestate thanks to the 'well informed' consultancy firms who literally write our laws. It's funny that convicts had to build their own prisons... and here we are in a 'modern' world with the grift that Marxism ALWAYS FKING WAS, doing it to us, with our own taxes, with pseudo science, ambiguous definitions and bullsh*t propaganda.

The reality is that it would be an unpopular move. If you stop businesses, superannuation funds and non citizens owning property the values would drop to half the current prices, which would put many people underwater on their mortgages. No government has the intestinal fortitude to do this..

Well there's a light bulb moment. Unfortunately the the rich own the politicians and they are the gatekeepers of sensible decisions.

More options should be available. Like using your superannuation. Less red tape. More flexibility.
