Once upon a time, solar on houses was feeding back into the grid. Now, far too many EVs are using the electricity instead of powering essential devices. Add this to the ludicrous ban on gas ovens and cook tops also draining electricity. Reverse cycle air-conditioning mandates further drain power. Home batteries to store electricity cheaper than feed in tarrifs and usable when the grid does shut down. Less electricity into the grid and more out. It's not rocket science. It's corruption.

Was a time not long ago , most communities had their own power stations I believe Home Hill still has one as a museum

The PHONy party's childish bullshit makes me laugh. Their own posts admit that their "reliable" Coal fired power stations can't handle the high temperatures of summer. Well Malcolm, my solar panels produce more power in summer than they do any other time of the year. So when your aging coal clunkers fall over in the heat, I'll still have power for my aircon, cooking etc. Even at night! By the way, you'd better tell Google to blur out your house on Google Earth. Your own panels can be seen from space.
