Last year (2023-24), Australia had the largest number of business insolvencies ever recorded - mostly small businesses. Almost 7% of Western Sydney businesses are likely to close within the next 12 months. Inflation averaged 2.2% under the Coalition. It has averaged 4.1% under Labor. As at the end of 2024, Australia’s core inflation was higher than the USA, UK, Germany, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Italy, France, Canada, and many other countries. The International Monetary Fund has projected that in 2025, Australia will have the second highest inflation of any developed country (after the Slovak Republic). Inflation impacts everyone as it leads to higher prices, higher interest rates and higher taxes. After 12 interest rate rises and only one cut under Labor, Australia now has the highest rates since 2011. ‍ This is due to high inflation caused primarily by reckless spending by the Albanese Labor government. When they end in just 3 months’ time, inflation will increase still further. Prior to the election they promised to reduce household power prices every year by $275. Instead, our energy costs have increased by approximately $1,300 per annum. Australia needs 24/7 baseload power for hospitals, factories and freezers and for households that need reliable electricity. Under Labor, 90% of our 24/7 reliable baseload electricity will be closed off within 10 years. DEFENCE & NATIONAL SECURITY Australia faces the most dangerous security environment since World War 2. Despite this, Labor has made more than $80 billion in cuts, delays and reprioritisations to our Defence budget. Recently, it also cancelled our $7 billion sovereign satellite program. Keeping Australians safe requires strong border security and tight control over who is allowed to enter and, especially, permanently live in our country. The previous LNP Coalition government refused or cancelled over 10,000 visas. This included violent criminals, sex offenders and drug traffickers. By contrast, Labor’s blunders have put Australians at risk by unnecessarily allowing up to 93 detained convicted criminals to roam our streets – together with potentially hundreds of pro-Hamas terrorist supporters from among the nearly 3,000 Tony Burke allowed in from Gaza. On top of all this, Labor will undoubtedly collaborate with the anti-Semitic Greens if it’s necessary to do so in order to remain in power. The Greens manifesto includes the following: · Ending the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030. · An impossible and unsustainable 100% renewables by 2030 – that’s in just 5 years’ time! It’s easy to see why voting for the Labor-Greens at this election would likely lead to an even worse government than the one we have had to endure for the past 3 years.
