There is another concern I have with social media platforms collecting data from people, especially when it entails photo ID. These platforms are not from Australia and their handling of sensitive material, collating and storage in a foreign jurisdiction almost makes me feel it violates the Privacy Act. As we know identity theft is alive and well. Any Senator voting for this legislation must be held accountable.

I recall when they were pushing for an ID card in the late 80s. It failed but they were always wanting to find a way to get the ID card, but it’s now more invasive.

I am curious. I have read our constitution, nowhere does it enshrine ‘freedom of speech’, only freedom of thought’. It does refer to the USA FoS, but only as an example. Odd! Isn’t it weird that it refers only to ‘thought’. It implies that you can think what you like, but if you say it aloud then your not protected by our constitution and open to being charged or whatever. Just say. F#€£ the Mis/Dis Bill!!
