Why is the question coal fired power no problems green energy now a problem and has to expansive and high cost to maintain as well. Funny governments would not lie to us would they. Liberals signed us up to the Paris agreement which has hand cuffed Australias growth now and Labor that just spends billions. Joke. Not a mention of the new election bill that just went through Parliament which gives the major parties more money to use against smaller parties. Gives major parties and advantages over smaller ones which in my opinion it could be like rigging the election. Also the loopholes to use even more tax payers money. This bill straight under the table and voted through. Also no mention of the fuel reserves on and off shore Labor sold off and where's the money. Also no mention of the millions tax payers money gone to minority groups here in Australia linked to terrorists groups as well.

The idea of renewables being able to fill in for coal fired power stations is years in the distance.

Mike Miller actually why were the black outs is the question. The load on transformer yards especially between Qld and NSW were the problem but one took 2 1/2 years to up grade due to money not being spent on maintenance not the power stations. Check if you want.

People use air conditioning, then they have to use more air conditioning, sitting inside behind a tv or at a desk or in air conditioned vehicle, is not conducive to ideal climate change in your own back yard, see what your car does to the ants and butterflies, and frogs and kangaroos, and insects and birds and turtles, they dont exist no more!

I can't believe how many people defend this renewable rubbish. Clearly they have never been out of the city and seen the devastating impact of the solar farms and wind farms that are only useful when they stop tampering with the weather. All our issues are because of our governments and how many of you are prepared to eat grass because they've destroyed all the farming. Not to mention the fact that each tax payer takes home less then 50% of their hard earned income thanks to all the taxes in this country. Everybody needs to wake the f up.
