Cutting the fuel excise to 26c per litre means savings at the pump and lower freight costs, which will reduce the prices of groceries, goods, and services—putting more money back in your pocket.

How about remove the excise entirely - there’s still GST. Then remove all excise taxes while you’re at it. After all GST is a tax on a tax.

Senator Roberts. Will you do a review of all of the taxes that Aussies are forced to pay. Out of every 100 dollars an Aussie earns, how much eventually goes to the government in taxes? PAYE, GST, fuel, etc Eliminate stamp duty completely. The government has no right to tax you again for buying something with your already taxed dollars. Then, will you consider how to trim at least 50% of public servants by eliminating unnecessary rules and regulations and generally, making life simpler for Aussies. Can you develop an overall strategy that can reduce the taxes an Aussie pays to 50% or less of what he is paying today? Get rid of other taxes like inheritance tax as well. Why should the state take a huge slice of your already overtaxed assets when you die? It's time to unravel the mess in Australia and make it an affordable place to live.

Road tax needs to go to roads. Taxes should be called according to where they are spent. Fuel excise should be called woops we overpaid on catering.

As long as no one pulls the stunt like Scummo did with his 20c fuel relief. Farmers & contractors can claim back the road use fuel excise for fuel they use off road. When the then prime minister announced the 20c, guess who has their claim cut by 20c? Someone always has to pay or miss out. I have no trust in the major parties.

Last Friday night, I attended a community meeting in Samford to listen to constituents concerned about the Fire Ant Eradication Program.
I shared with them that I had been involved since learning about the pollution of Dawson Creek and witnessing the destruction of the native habitat and pollution of the local waterways firsthand. I informed the audience that One Nation would continue to highlight these issues in the Senate and seek accountability for the overzealous application of poisons into local ecosystems, especially when no local environmental impact studies had been completed.
We heard of instances where program officers had bullied single women as their properties were invaded by strangers applying chemicals, even when reasonable excuses were provided that should have prevented the spread of chemicals onto their properties.
Several experts also attended, including Dr Connie Turni, who informed the group about the dangers of the chemicals to residents and fauna affected by the treatments. We learned that the treatments had failed dismally since fire ants were first detected in South East Queensland in 2001, with around $1 billion wasted since then.
Non-chemical treatments, proven effective overseas, have been ignored to date.
Nobody wants fire ants, but the current program is failing, and alternatives need to be explored.

It appears that fire ants are getting a leg up by the albanese government that was recently saying biosecurity is a big thing for them. The war on Australian farming is going to plan & nobody has the guts to say it as it is. Thankyou Malcolm Roberts for referring to it.

It hasn't escaped country folks notice that a LOT of pests have "mysteriously" entered Australia and a magic chemical just happens to be newly available and contracted into Gov't programmes. We have worked HARD to keep Australia's farms and environment in globally enviable condition. It's easy to think we have been sold out after successive ignorant "leadership".
No ants at my place, all others gone too, along with beetles., Apparently $15000 fine if they're stopped. Last application, my bird died, fumes maybe, I don't know she was perfectly fine the day before. I hate what is happening, the destruction all over Australia with this filthy grubment.

It seems that these bureaucracies follow what is dictated to them from so called ‘experts’ who often have links to other vested interests. Thankyou they are bullying and harassing home owners that do not have any Fire Ants. I am sick to death of seeing their trucks it seriously gives me PTSD when I see a van headed into our Valley again. They treated our front yard without permission last year, they recently tried to tell our neighbour that we were ok with having our front yard treated as we had been treated before. Thankfully my neigbour knew that was BS and called me, I told them I was on my way home from work and they left.
But yet we are still forced to have this on our properties .. no exceptions what happened to owning your own land and our land rights... deciding for yourself what you wanted on your land or what you want to be exposed to Makes me so angry Im sure the first nation people would be excused

Thank you for the voice of reason in this discussion. I’m from Texas and we eradicated fire ants from every location we lived by following personal best procedures depending on the location. Never was it ever determined that any aerosols would eradicate fire ants. Only a couple granules on the top of an undisturbed nest killed the queens internally.

The fireant program is a scam. I worked on it when it started up. They had incompetent team leaders and the actual fireant nest I personally found, they lost the paperwork for it. It was almost like they never wanted it to end, after all it was and still is a cash cow for QLD...
