Absolutely spot on I 100% agree with Malcolm on this. Australia’s defence has been neglected for decades while the government throws billions overseas, like to Ukraine, instead of building up our own capabilities here. We should be manufacturing our own submarines, tanks, drones everything right here on home soil. That’s jobs for Aussies, industry growth, and real national security. Instead, we’re stuck outsourcing defence while pouring money into pointless roles like “gender advisers” and letting our armed forces get gutted. It’s backwards. Bring back the focus to sovereign defence, Aussie manufacturing, and actually looking after the people who risk their lives for this country.

Agree totally Malcolm as a veteran I have an idea of what makes soldiers tick. It's a leadership that supports them, leaders that stand up for them. They need to know that the boss has their backs and unfortunately that's very far from what has been in practice for some time. News organizations publish false reports about our forces, did the DOD stand by them, their silence was deafening, little wonder people no longer want to join up. They put their lives on the line for us all, but when they need support.....nothing is what happens, they're cast to the wind to fend for themselves while the top brass and ministers retire in beachfront mansions on huge pensions! It's just bloody WRONG and despicable and God forbid that we do need an armed force we will be up crap creek without a boat! All good buying expensive armaments we still need people and good people at that in service!

How about treating military personnel with respect that they deserve. Most military are volunteers, they get trained to fight and when they come home politicians treat them like shit, they also do not help them to transition. Veterans who have done active service in conflicts are thrown on the street and have to get on with it.as a veteran I can say I have seen the results of what this treatment does. This is not just Labor or Liberal, but all parties

Being extremely cost effective seriously it's a no brainer. Drone's are the simple answer. 24/7 non-stop surviellance. Constant observation long distance and armed . No ridiculous outdated artillery. Jet fighters and submarines. If we have not got air superiority and security of our great country then why not. Stupid border patrol boats out of Cairns and elsewhere are a sheer waste of tax payers money. ADF wise we only have maybe a max. of 3000 fit for active service in the field. Give all Aussies back their Lee Enfield 303's. Many decades ago in the late 1950's I was trained on the 303 rifle, Vickers Machine Gun and Bren. Later moving into outdated technology again on the 40mm bofors and then the 105mm howitzers. Great memories and awesome times !
