It’s simple: Life is far too expensive.
Australians are living through an unprecedented decline in living standards, driven by the cost of living crisis. Decades of poor decisions by government have left Australia with the worst fall in income in the developed world.
One Nation wants to turn this decline around by putting $40 billion directly in Australian back pockets, paid for by responsible budget repair.
26c a Litre off Fuel
The fuel excise (a tax) can be cut overnight for 3 years, putting hundreds back in any vehicle owner’s pocket, cutting the cost of freight and transportation leading to cheaper groceries and goods.
Income splitting
Couples with at least one dependant child can save up to $9,500 a year with joint tax returns (income splitting). Families can use that money to decide the best way for them to work and care for their children.
Bulk Billing Expansion
The Medicare system is subject to rampant fraud. By cracking down on it, at least $3 billion (conservatively) can be put back into restoring bulk billing appointments for Australians.
Profit Gouging Crack Down
Supermarkets, airlines, insurance companies and banks are cleaning out Australian wallets. Fully fund the ACCC to crack down on corporations so there’s more money left in your pocket, not shareholders.
20% Off power bills
Electricity prices have never been higher because the grid has been mismanaged. Simple rule changes can instantly make power cheaper for households and small businesses, leading to cheaper goods like groceries economy wide.
Cut the Beer tax
Australia’s alcohol excise (tax) is among the highest in the world. Freeze the twice-yearly increases and abolish the charge on drinks served in licensed venues, stimulating the hospitality industry and making a social night out cheaper.
Bring back the V8
Dramatically reduce the cost of new cars and bring back V8s by abolishing rules targeting petrol and diesel vehicles. Get rid of the Labor government’s ‘ute tax’ clamping down on internal combustion engines.
Pensioners & Retirees
Aged and Veteran pensioners will be allowed to work part or full time without penalty to their pension. The tax-free threshold for elf-funded retirees not receiving government payments will be raised to $35,000.
