I was reading where Westinghouse have developed fully sealed small nuclear electricity generators that can be situated wherever they are required and they are good for about eight years and when necessary the unit can be disconnected from the grid, removed and a new unit installed and connected to the grid. There is no requirement for external cooling. Surely this would be more economical than renewables. I think the output is around 8 megawatts. May pay Australia to look into this as a stopgap for a full-size nuclear power plant.

But the carving of pristine forests in many areas in Australia. There are wind farms in State forests and farms on once were beautiful unspoilt forests that had the largest habitat of Koalas and endangered possums. It is environmental vandalism on a scale larger then the Franklin Dam would have been, its bigger than the Exxon Valdez. If I did that amount of damage to my property I would be sent to Jail for the rest of my life. If a farmer or a property owner wants to do something to their land they have to jump through all kinds of environmental impact studies and it might take years, how can these wind farm companies get these environmental study done so quickly and in areas where up until now your were not even allowed to step foot in. And the another thing how many of these companies are fully Australian owned. I don't know about you or anyone else I am sick to death of seeing these wind farms on our skyline on pristine mountains and in forests.

And how much money are these people being paid, a couple of hundred thousand dollars a year. They never have to worry where their money is coming from or struggle to to find the money to pay for the basics in life. Bloody disgrace

He said they use "Approval rates" as key milestones i.e., the decisions made by CEO, Board or Minister to approve funding (going to) 1. Baseline funding - the boards decisions on policy, and 2. Project funding. He said funding for 23/24 was $445M Baseline and $392.5M contracts making the annual total $837.5M (on this, BL is 53% contracts 47%) The total funding for forward estimates on the figures he read out is $3B987M 😳 Or three billion nine hundred and eighty seven million dollars. This is for 5 years. Who pays for this? How much is going to baseline funding? Possibly one billion, eight hundred seventy-three million, eight hundred ninety thousand on the percent ratio above. What is this spent on if it's not projects? Yes, it's a ton of money! Of course it was well supported by the coalition. And no one buys the spin by "ol drop in" who sprukes local inventions and at the same time low cost (imported) tech.

Add to that the fact that inverters and batteries usually need replacing even sooner, and the costs stack up quickly. Meanwhile, energy companies buy your excess power for next to nothing and sell it back to you at full price when your system can’t keep up. And all this is happening on top of homes that are built like ovens and iceboxes with no proper insulation, just a token solar panel on the roof to tick a green box. What a scam.
