What is not mentioned is the compensation paid to companies because of the unreliability of power supply. Over 2 billion bucks to a smelter to keep it open is one example. That isn't built into the cost of renewables.

Solar is a scam. We have a 6kw system and 72 panels. Our electricity bills are approx $700 per quarter (2 ppl) and the rebate is $65. Doesn’t even cover the GST.

This is the nasty little truth they never mention, all this renewable infrastructure will need to be replaced several times over the lifespan of one nuclear generator but this cost is never factored in. It’s the same with pumped hydro, it takes considerably more energy to pump water uphill than you can ever produce on its downward run. You can calculate the power required if you know the factors like volume, height distance and angles.
