I would love to see this poster at the front door of a local business. Personally, I go to my bank’s ATM once a week and take out the cash that I need for that week’s shopping. It is a great way to budget and keep your finances under control and keep your purchases private. No government control for me. I will not be signing up to any digital identity.

You make great points for encouraging people that cash is better than cards.

And using cash makes it harder for businesses to get on board with going cashless when their customers are regularly using cash.

We should all be supporting small businesses by using cash. People who run a market stall, want to save on bank processing fees, want to have a garage sale, sell something on marketplace or gumtree, etc need all of us to support using cash. “Cash is King/Queen”.

Good motivational shove. It’s easy to get lazy and just use a card, but you fuel the digital currency push by relying on a card.

Cash helps you keep track of your money. You can physically see how much you have spent and how much you have left.
So many people are getting ripped off these days by using their cards by scammers and the like so it makes even more sense to keep cash.
Especially helpful in times where you have to be super diligent about where your money goes. Using cash helps people use their money more wisely and teaches children how to save money and be responsible with money.
    Keep cash. !!

Put simply ,if cash use is lost then banks have full control of EVERYBODIES ACCOUNTS !! This CANNOT happen and people would be well advised to fight corruption at EVERY level !!

I use cash for most things, trying to keep businesses alive.

I was standing in-line to purchase some items and was held upd by people paying with their phones. The bank app on one’s phone wasn’t working properly and held people up.

Cash is best, cash is the safest form of payment always has been, always will be.

Love the signage senator roberts ❤️❤️❤️

Using cash means you are transacting with a real person (owner/employee), and saving future jobs.

    1. When you use a card for transactions banks can retrospectively tell you where you’re spending money and how much in total you are spending month to month. This information can be used for good or bad. It’s your choice.

    2. Do remember that owners of small businesses often pay card fees higher than major chains of stores, like supermarkets or department stores and big franchises. (FWIW, the two big supermarkets have a big financial interest in the businesses that provide card services, so to some extent they get the fees back.) Leaking money via these cards fees hurts small businesses. Better to pay them in cash if you can, not least because you might help keep them in business.

The banks are making it difficult for people to withdraw cash by removing ATMs. There are none left at my local shopping centre and the local post office does not deal with my bank because they refuse to pay the required fee. To withdraw from the supermarket I either have to queue at a checkout or the service desk which is usually quite time consuming. My other option is to drive a round trip of 6.5 kms to another centre which of course incurs fuel costs.

We continue to withdraw cash from our local bank and use it to pay the boy next door who cuts our lawn, our grandsons for their birthdays, and also for other purchases. We also use a credit card but despair of the thought of not being able to do this . Some of our family have already encountered firms which won’t tale cash anymore!

I like it, though I would rather see the TRUTH of the matter told. OUR FUTURE IS CASHLESS.
Thanks again Senator Roberts. for sharing. I will copy several & share.

I just read on Substack that a store in France decided to go cashless. About 20 people got together and filled up their carts with food then proceeded to checkout via a live checkout. The store manager went into panic mode! Policy changed!
Other suggestions given at cashless places were:
Fill up your vehicle with fuel. Pay cash
Go out to eat with a bunch of friends. Pay cash
Shop at your favourite place. Pay cash

Make sure act stupid and admit you didn’t notice the cashless sign!

I always thought that all cash in our currency is legal tender so how can these stores post no cash accepted only cards?
I would think that stores doing this are breaking the law. Big brother is getting bigger. The book 1984 was just a little longer being realised. ATM’s are being withdrawn. Our money is being eroded by a government that is intent on controlling everything we do and being led by the banks.

I like using cash as iit saves carrying cash around, HOWEVER, in view of what they are planning to do with cash, I am thoroughly disgusted, distraught and deplored with their proposal;s!
Can I suggest that everyone thoroughly investigate this proposal and to ensure that it DOESN’T GO THROUGH, otherwise we are ALL THOROUGHLY SCREWED- ITS HORRENDOUS1
The big end of town demanding that they will rule us all!

My wife and I always use cash. It keeps money in the community rather than it getting skimmed off by foreign owned banksters. One also always gets a better deal for cash.

I am yet to go to a garage sale, or buy something on market place, where I have had an EFTPOS machine thrown in front of me to pay. Same with selling items. No-one has ever asked to not pay by cash. Been a long time since I went to the races, but went last weekend – all bets had to be made in cash. I’m a pensioner, and totally prefer cash. At the end of each day, I put all my coins in a tin. Yesterday went to the bank and cashed it in – was $865! Nice surprise.

I only use cash when shopping and have handed out the little cash sheets explaining why I used cash today. The little business owners love it, but wasted on big corporations. I also suggest to cashiers to say, “Are you paying by cash?” Because if they use the word “card” first, then the damage is done. Also so many younger people think they are smart by using their phones, watches and rings to pay. If only they were aware of the bigger picture. So if more businesses put up these signs and mentioned the word “cash” all the time, it will help. Kind regards Anne
