Previously, Westpac abruptly announced their plans to close the branch that deals with millions of dollars in agribusiness and mining contractors, with no consultation.

When this inquiry announced we would be coming to Cloncurry to hear from locals and interrogate Westpac, they suddenly reversed their decision to abandon Cloncurry.

While the backdown is a small win, there are still dozens of regional branches on the big banks’ chopping blocks. Despite taking millions of dollars from the bush, the banks are happy to keep hollowing out regional town services to save a few cents.

Residents are forced to travel hundreds of extras kilometres to bank and community events are put on hold because they can’t get a decent cash float in their own town.

Bank profits are at record highs, the Australian community expects that they do the bare minimum for our regional towns and they are failing them.

Bank closure has not a great deal about saving money. think it is more towards their push to digital currency.Seem like Vanguard is the largest holder of shares. Need we ask anymore questions as they are behind the push along with 90 percent of the Clowns in our parliament.
Senator Roberts and a few others are not part of the clown crowd.
Thank God we still have a few honest people looking out for us.

Banks appear to be a breed of their own.

I’m still waiting on B of Melbourne update on the fraud on my account.

    It’s been a horrific 3 and a bit years.

It appears that many of my phone calls were with false call centre people.

Funny that, drk sister character used to run call centres.

I eventually, cried on the phone to a lady in one of the branches and urged her to kick my complaint along and suggested that the AFP need to be involved.

That was the day, I tried to transfer some money to pay a buddy back for giving me a float to survive on…. I, to my horror, discovered a whole lot of ANZ accounts attached to me… I was shocked!!!

I have NEVER banked with ANZ.

My deceased mother did. The sh*t is gonna hit the fan, it needs to.

Bring on BRICS l reckon ! Time the Jewish owned criminal banking systems were a thing of the past and a more level playing field was introduced whereby everybody gets a fair go . Hopefully BRICS is not just another deceivement from these same corrupt and greedy institutions but no-one would be surprised. Come on Albanese ,how about taking this country in a totally different direction ,show some fortitude and stop licking the butts of the American warlords who are at the forefront of all that is wrong in the world !

Banks are in the business of selling money, their only Interest is the billions in INTEREST they collect from consumers.

If the banks close and the cash is stopped. Everyone in Australia will suffer including many businesses because there profits will decline greatly. What do I mean? As you have said previously. The push for 15 minutes cities is real and already happening in the UK.And digital money can be destroyed at the push of a button meaning that the value a business has can drop from millions of dollars to cents in an extremely short period of time. It could cause businesses all over Australia to practically have the rugs pulled out from under them leaving them with nothing and nowhere to go. Banks need to stay open to serve and save every Australian from complete disaster and cash, real cash has to stay for a better tomorrow. We are all Australians and we all matter greatly.

Repeal “The Financial Sector Legislation Amendment (Crisis Resolution Powers and Other Measures) Bill 2017” as it will be just outright theft of Depositors money if a Bank has to be “Bailed In”
